Nothing to brag about. Came through town, stopped at The Bistro for dinner. Service wasn't the quickest, considering the restaurant was less than half full, but we didn't mind. However, when we got our food, my chicken was super rough and dry, my risotto far overcooked, my partner's "red wine mushroom ragu" seemed quite similar to canned mushroom gravy, and polenta had no flavor. The sauces on both dishes were fairly tasty though. All in all, a mediocre experience. For the price per entree, I wouldn't return.

The food is really, good, with creative specials and attentive service. The only drawback is the noisiness. With two large parties in the open 4-room space, we could hardly exchange a word over the loudness level. You really need either partitions or soft furnishings to dampen the resonance. The wooden floors and brick walls are nice, but do the opposite of sound insulating.

Love this place, last time we were here late and stayed until closing we were having so much fun. This time we are earlier but just as much fun. Excellent food, great decor and excellent mixed drinks. You must visit this place, I give it a very high rating. No fear when I return this will be a must stop

Excellent food, excellent service! I am vegan and they GLADLY accommodated me and I had a marvelous dinner! Everyone at my table was happy, well fed and to be honest, we were treated and well cared for as though we were regulars even though we were passing through Bowling Green on our way home to Atlanta. Highly recommend!

The chef really out did himself this time! Had the crab appetizer and the scallops and gnocci special. It was amazing. Leaving full and would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to experience a classy and special place in Bowling Green!

This is yet another prime example of an amazing locally owned restaurant. Places like The Bistro are why I wish we had more family and locally owned restaurants instead of the large franchise fast food and sit down restaurants. I have been to The Bistro on multiple occasions at varying times of the day. Regardless of how busy it is they always offer amazing service. The staff is always friendly and the cooks are wonderful. My favorite dish is the Penne Rustica. The serving sizes are large and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of food.

Excellent! Great service and excellent food! From the pasta dishes to the salmon. Everything is great! If you get a chance... try the Fried Ravioli app. So so so good!

I had the vegetable curry daily lunch special washed down with a bourbon barrel ale - really tasty!

Food and service were great but very loud. We had a table of six and had a hard time hearing each other.

Went here for a first date - was perfect atmosphere! Comfortable, but nice, not a pretention in the place! Menu has lots of options - all good, comfort-food-with-a twist dishes prepared using quality ingredients. Food was great, service was timely, friendly & helpful. It was a quiet afternoon, so that probably helped, but it was great to be able to linger over appetizers, entrees, and our drinks. I thought portions were adequate to large - couldn't have eaten another bite, despite how yummy everything was.

I really enjoyed my meal there. I don't mind paying a little for well prepared food that is fresh. I give it several thumbs up and will return when I the chance.

I didn't have the pizza. I had the greek salad and a dish that had penne pasta, chicken, prosciutto, and shrimp in a cream sauce. Pretty rich! I went on a Wednesday and they affectionately called it Whino Wednesday i believe. 1/2 price on wine by the glass as well as 1/2 price on bottles. Too bad I had to drive back to my hotel. However, I had a great glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. The bartender, waiting staff, and owner were super friendly. I hope I get back soon!

A group of six stops in on their way back to Cincinnati, Ohio from their vacation in Seaside, Florida. After deciding against Novo Dolce because they had a long wait we went to The Bistro and got seated immediately. Our server, Jordan was a breath of fresh air to these weary travelers and was the best server that we had on vacation, despite being from Kentucky. He had good speed of service, attention to detail and was extremely personable. Salad game on point. We recommend the matilda salad with added protein! The seafood was tender and delicious and we enjoyed the specials. We felt welcomed into the angelic arms of The Bistro, which had a low key and somewhat romantic atmosphere. Jordan offered us coffees to go for the rest of our trip, which was really thoughtful of him. All in all, the next time we are in town, for whatever reason in which we are forced to drive through this godforsaken state, we will be back! Also, the water in the men's restroom is extremely hot and will burn you, so be careful.

One of Bowling Green's best. I sat at the bar with a very accommodating bar tender who was very attentive. Good selections of libations including whiskey, IPA and other spirits. For the foodie in me the BBQ pork sliders were on point, the crab beignet was great and my entree of the Rosemary Shrimp hit the mark. Great staff, solid menu and plenty of street or lot parking.

The wife and I both had the bolognase and we both thought it was really good. Tasted very fresh. Service was really great . The waiter was very attentive and did a great job. We thought everything we ate from the bread with oil, the greens , and main course were great. Worth stopping by if you are in the area.

I love coming here for brunch. Their drinks are great, I always get a mimosa, and they have a creative menu to choose from. I have yet to have a bad meal here.

The barbecue sliders were amazing and were a perfect size and with enough room left we top it off with the chocolate mousse cake. The rest of our group loved every bite. No complaints.

Terrible service. Ate there with 10 girls for a bachelorette party and two individuals food did not arrive until the other 8 of us were done eating. Manager never came out to apologize. No refills and no offers for more alcohol.

Party of 6 treated very well! We enjoyed our recent evening at the Bistro, from cocktails through paying the check, split 3 ways. Service was attentive but not obtrusive. Food was delicious, though next time, I will stick with one of my favorites rather than being tempted by a special.

Went here the Friday night for the first time. The service was very good, the bread and olive oil mixture they brought out was awesome. The atmosphere is nice. They have remodeled an older house into a restaurant, there was soft live piano music, and a romatic, modern feel. We got the antipasto which was also very good quality and had a great taste. The blue cheese was especially good on the platter. The menu items are pretty typical modern american-italian fare with a few new choices, but they do use fresh local ingredients from what I understand, and their menu changes seasonally. My lobster ravioli was very good, not too rich, but very tasty. My fiance's ribeye was cooked perfectly and was some of the best tasting ribeye I have ever had. That sauce on the steak had a strong mushroom flavor and was very rich for a brown sauce, but was also very good. They even cut the potatoes in to the shape of little mushrooms. An interesting touch that really made the dish feel specially prepared. Dessert was also very good. We had the layered reaspberry parfait, which was an amazingly light but sweet finish to the meal. It was the perfect after dinner touch since we were already quite full. Overall a great place with food that has been prepared so that you can tell a lot of care was put into it, and you can taste the fresh ingredients. I definetly will be trying this place again.

Yay, finally, yay! A nice little Italian restaurant tucked away. Definitely date-worthy. We dressed up, but unfortunately were the only people who actually made an effort. Anyway, you wouldn't want to wear gym shorts and tank top to this place. Surprisingly, my grilled salmon was good! (Didn't taste frozen!) My date had the lobster ravioli but I'm no sure whether that's the best he had. The place was cute, I guess that's the best word to describe it. It's a little dark and I wasn't sure what kind of style the restaurant was trying to achieve (in terms of decorations, not food). Desserts were creme brulee and something with Bailey's.

My wife and I celebrated her birthday here while on a road trip! Excellent choice, as service, food and atmosphere where all terrific! Food centers on local suppliers--always a plus-- and was well prepared and served. Lots of choices for vegetarians also! Highly recommend!

Food is usually good. Service, not so much. I've had multiple rude waitress incidents at this place. The last time I was there, our waitress disappeared for 20 minutes and messed up our check--and never apologized for either. For one of the nicer restaurants in town, they should really try to hire more professional wait staff. Also they don't have any beer on tap, which is really strange.

I can't understand why mine is the only 5 star review. Obviously no one reviewing this place ordered the Champagne Chicken. This dinner is nothing short of exquisite. The champagne sauce is nicely prepared and an exceptional complement to the chicken breast. Presentation of the entree was unpretentious and good -- presentation and content of the antipasto plate matched or exceeded any antipasto plate I have ever ordered. Decor is funky and pleasant, featuring local artists. Server was knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. The house white wine could have been better, but then I should have ordered better.

The food was very good. At the table, we had an entree, a pasta, and a salad -- all very good. The service was very friendly and prompt. There was also a half-off martini special (yay!) the night we were there. I would disagree with Krissy C, though, that The Bistro is romantic. I went with my parents for which this was the perfect place -- quiet, well lit. However, The Bistro could do more for the date crowd by sprucing up the one large eating areas with some light fixtures or less random art. All in all, though, great dinner for the BG.

Overpriced. Tiny portions. And we went for lunch! The menu didn't explain the food very well so I had to send my plate back: the sandwich I ordered came with this gross sauce that the menu hadn't even mentioned. It's pretty inside but kinda generically pretentious. I'll give it a second shot, but only if I'm bored.

Food was great, service was wonderful, nice atmosphere--somewhat formal but clearly doesn't have to be (It IS Kentucky after all). Definitely worth going back to soon. They make a good mojito too

Growing up eating delicious Chicago pizza on a regular basis, it is hard to find good pizza outiside the Chicagoland area. However, one of my friends lives in Bowling Green and recommended ordering the Chicago style pizza with some extra marinara on the side. Oh my goodness, this pizza was delicious! It was like this strange deep dish/thin crust mutant that made my stomach sing with glee. We ordered it simple, with mushrooms as the only additional topping. I'm not sure of other dishes outside of the pizza as this seems to be a favorite amongst the group I was with. When/if I'm ever in Bowling Green again, I'll be sure to make a stop for more pizza.

Good food. I enjoyed the bread with vinegar and oil. When it is busy the dining area can become loud, but otherwise, I always enjoy dining here.

This place has gotten better every time I've gone. Very odd really since most local places are getting worse, this one gets better. Great service, great atmosphere with a great meal.
